The Green Series by Victor Ghoshe

To add some colours to my life along with my 9 to 6 job I decided to paint through my Sundays . And somehow this unique idea stroke my mind hard that if I need to create something really interesting I might need to start from the dust-bin to create my new series. I was lucky. Some weeks later, one late evening sitting in my office I found what I was destined to find.... One of our office attendants, threw a bunch of used, crumpled envelops in the dustbin after clearing a certain table..... I lazily looked at the disgust on his face and had compassion on the stuff he threw..... in a moment I could see a vision in my mind.... For all of us – envelops are so important till the moment they deliver a document... but the next moment they have no value for us.... they suddenly become useless – they become garbage. My mind raced.... Is it possible to give them a new life... ? Is it possible to give them a life of honour....? Is it possible to help them help us...once again.........? Many Sundays and several months of relentless struggle-with-time later... I could create a repository.... A responsible, thoughtful and an honest repository for the human passion for being creative. May I present... The Green Series …

Victor Ghoshe's 1st book - Ethernet & Other stories - a collection of paranormal stories launched in Bangla Sahitya Academy, Kolkata Sept. 2010:

Ethernet ebong onnanno golpo :
Book Review
Victor Kalyan Ghoshe is a young Indian writer, who is very new in the Indian literary field, but who surely will be known very soon for his fresh & humanistic approach to literature. ‘Ethernet ebong onnanno golpo’ is a short story collection in Bengali, a language spoken in the eastern state of India - West Bengal. And yet, his works are surely of universal interest. They are about things that make human life move on – sur-reality, human bonding, emotions, struggle, conflicts, joys and sorrows.

Victor leaves a cinematic imagery in the mind of the reader through every sentence he composes. His stories demonstrate a remarkable humanism, elaborate observation and subtle handling of characters and situations. Victor Kalyan Ghoshe’s work is a rare blend of life, sur-reality, human bonding and emotions. His style is controlled, precise, meticulous, and yet, evokes deep emotional response from readers. His stories depict a fine sensitivity without using melodrama or dramatic excesses. He evolved a simplistic style that is almost invisible. He strongly believes that - "The best technique of storytelling is the one that's not noticeable".

Wish-Fly is the 'wings of wishes' we all have, its an inbuilt mechanism, but we keep them

Buyer's testimony

During a trip to India in 2007, I had the good fortune of embracing a painting titled, Spring in Simlipal by Victor Kalyan Ghoshe.
In my home in Toronto, Victor's art complements Canadian stalwarts like Pitseolak Ashoona and Haren Vakil.
The walls of my study have been rendered alive with the myriad nuances of Victor's awe-inspiring brush.
I'm lucky to own Spring in Simlipal because a signature VKG will soon be out of my reach.

Inspiration

Music makes pictures and often tells stories
All of it is magic and all of it is true
And all of the pictures and all of the stories
All of the magic, the music is you
All of the magic, the music is you...
